The Chef And His Knife

Constant vigilance!

This is one important lesson that a cook in Flames Restaurant learned when he was stabbed by his co-worker on Saturday. Police investigators said that the incident happened in Mattapan Restaurant when one cook stabbed the victim.

According to the victim, whose identity remained undisclosed, the stabbing incident happened after a heated argument between them. The suspect, who is also a cook, grabbed a kitchen knife and charged right at the victim. The stomach area was the target. The victim though tried to get away from what was happening. He sustained injuries to his abdominal area and was rushed immediately to the Boston Medical Center which was the nearby hospital. He was treated promptly there for injuries that were not life threatening. Investigators also said that there were patches of blood on the victim’s clothes.

The suspect was identified as Wellesley Clarke. He is 55 years old and he hails from Boston. He was placed under arrest a few moments after the incident. Clarke will now be facing charges of assault and battery with knife. The police investigators also took hold of the knife used in the stabbing incident and it will be used as evidence.

Being always on guard can help individuals avoid situations like this. In this case, the unassuming victim was stabbed by an instrument he frequently uses – the knife. Cases like this can serve as an eye-opener for individuals to be very careful with a thing that can cause harm. A knife is a very powerful instrument given the materials used in it and the way it has been fashioned. Knives nowadays have blades made using first class materials like titanium, iron and steel. Its precision cutting ability is more than enough to actually cause harm. This is why it is said that individuals who work with knives should constantly to treat it with care.

The knife is the first human tool known is history. The earliest knives were made from hard rocks with sharp edges. They are shaped through knapping. Today, a variety of knives can be seen but in essence, there two forms of knife: fixed blade knives and folding or pocket knives.

To ensure a good-quality knife, check out specialty stores. There are many sales going like the bowie knife sale among many others. Antiques shops also offer the antique bowie knife and many other types of knives in case you love them. Purchase a good quality knife but remember to always have discipline if you own it.
